Here’s what we hear a lot. Since our pet doors come in different shapes and sizes, we have dozens of replacement flaps to choose from. Someone will go to our website and find the right flaps for their pet door model, but the flap size they measured is not on the list of available sizes. Sound familiar? 

Measuring your pet door flap seems easy enough, but there is a secret to it. Getting the correct size of your pet door flap makes finding a new flap a lot easier. 

Here’s how to measure your pet door flap: 

• Measure the flap width (A). That’s the easy part. 
• The height measurement (B) is what sometimes confuses people. If your pet door flap is still installed, simply measure the height that is visible, usually the height of the opening that your pet walks through. Do not include the small portion that is contained within the frame (C).

With this information, you should be on your way to finding the right replacement flap for your Ideal Pet Products pet door.
