To determine the correct size door, simply measure the width (A) and height (B) of your pet.
(A) Measure the widest point of your pet's shoulder.
(B) Measure from the top of your pet's back (just behind their head) to the bottom of chest.
Pet door models have different size openings. Just make sure your new pet door's opening is both wider and taller than your pet's measurements to ensure they can comfortably pass through.

Just What We Needed

Perfect fit
I've had the aluminum dog door for 21 years and it still looks brand new. I buy a new replacement flap (Old Style) every 5 or so. The sun hits hard on the dog door (installed on an outside facing door) and this product holds up well. Fear of the product being discontinued I bought 4 replacement flaps to last me another 20 years.

Old style dog door flap
I was so happy to find a dog door flap for my 20 year old dog door. It has been about 6 years since I last replaced the flap. The dog door is in great shape and just needed the flap. Quick delivery, easy install
The replacement flap came quickly and is easy to install. This is our 2nd replacement. We have a big dog and he enters and exits enthusiastically, so besides getting incredibly dirty, the flap does tend to get ripped after a couple of years. I only give 4 stars because it seems a bit expensive just to replace the flap. Otherwise, it's a great product.

Great product
We've got Siberian Huskies who come and go throughout the day, so the dog door gets a *lot* of use. The aluminum frame Ideal pet doors are very high quality, and when you do need a replacement flap (once in a blue moon), you're getting a high quality component. The thick plastic holds up extremely well, cleans easily, and seals out drafts pretty well when closed. Excellent products!
