To determine the correct size door, simply measure the width (A) and height (B) of your pet.
(A) Measure the widest point of your pet's shoulder.
(B) Measure from the top of your pet's back (just behind their head) to the bottom of chest.
Pet door models have different size openings. Just make sure your new pet door's opening is both wider and taller than your pet's measurements to ensure they can comfortably pass through.

There is no pre-assembled pet door for the modular patio door insert, so I had to buy this, the door frame and flap bar separately and assemble it myself.

Back in Service
Flap installation went smooth and all is well. The door is back in service for my 4 dogs and 1 cat. The original flap lasted for 15+ years so no complaints from me on the quality of this product.

After 20 + years we replace
I move into my present home 21 years ago , and pretty soon after installed 2 Large metal pet doors from Ideal. The one from my den to the garage was still intact, the one from my garage to the yard was hanging by a sliver. Not bad for out living 2 dogs and three cats. The installation went without a hitch and we have new doors again. Thanks, Erwin.

Perfect Dog Door
I have used the dog door for over 25 years, with all of my 8 dogs. Holds up great with all the abuse my dogs give it. My current Shar-Pei goes through it at lightning speed to greet the UPS guy, Seriously!! I usually have to replace the old style flap about once a year, which for me is a pretty good lifetime for the abuse it gets. Cannot beat the quality of this product, thank you

Great Doors!
I have been using this door for 14 years without problems. The wear and tear of dogs (and and an occasional cat) constantly coming in and out causes the plastic/rubber flap to eventually start ripping from the metal frame. However replacement parts are easy to order and relatively inexpensive

Fits perfectly
Beats replacing the whole pet door. Fits the old style aluminum frame. The old flap lasted 14 years!

Dog Door Flap
The replacement dog door flap that I purchased works very well. It is easy to install and is heavy duty. The only drawback is that it is a bit short so there is a small gap at the bottom which allows for more air flow out in winter and possible insect entrance in summer.

Perfect replacement. Website uses the same wording for two different styles. Better descriptive wording would alleviate ordering the wrong flap style.
