To determine the correct size door, simply measure the width (A) and height (B) of your pet.
(A) Measure the widest point of your pet's shoulder.
(B) Measure from the top of your pet's back (just behind their head) to the bottom of chest.
Pet door models have different size openings. Just make sure your new pet door's opening is both wider and taller than your pet's measurements to ensure they can comfortably pass through.

A lille work to install.
The plastic frame broke after ten years service, so I ordered a replacement frame and flap door.. The opening on the aluminum patio door panel was a little small for the replacement door frame.. Nothing a good file couldn't fix. In about an hour after I started, everything was back functioning properly....

Plastic frame for xtra lrg dog door
I think Ideal Pet Products are great, but the plastic frame could use some re-thinking. The triangles (for lack of a better description) at the top of the frame where the plastic flap is screwed on causes a lot of stress on the flap and causes it to break way before the rest of the flap wears out. I actually removed those triangles and the flap now sits perfectly. Other than that, the flap installs very easily.

I needed a new inside frame for my patio doggy door . I was worried that I couldn't find an exact replacement Thank Goodness for this site . They had exactly what I needed . I received it quickly as well . Happy here .

would be nice if it came as a whole kit instead of in pieces
I had to buy a replacement frame. No big deal, except you got a to buy it all in pieces. Screws or a separate. I missed one of the pieces and had to pay another shipping charge. I don't mind paying for any of this except the additional shipping charge for a little tiny piece. It would be nice if you could buy it as a kit.
