Note: A Magnet Retainer Bar is Included with Replacement Inside Frame.
To determine the correct size door, simply measure the width (A) and height (B) of your pet.
(A) Measure the widest point of your pet's shoulder.
(B) Measure from the top of your pet's back (just behind their head) to the bottom of chest.
Pet door models have different size openings. Just make sure your new pet door's opening is both wider and taller than your pet's measurements to ensure they can comfortably pass through.

So glad they continue to produce the "old style" replacement parts. This is the second or third time I've rehabbed my pet door. Love that I can do that and know the parts will work/fit.

I looked for weeks to find a new dog door to install in place of the "Old-Style" Ideal Pet door that was installed in a wall years before I purchased my home. Unfortunately, there are no new dog doors that come close to the 9x15 size of this door. So happy I found this site to order an official replacement. I ordered 2 of these w/ flaps so that I could create a two-flap door, one on the inside wall, the other on the exterior wall. Fit perfectly in the old cut-out. Only difficult part was getting the old doors/frames out. Very happy I found this. Grateful that Ideal Pets still makes these for people in my situation.

Room For Improvement
This is the second frame I've purchased in the last couple of years, and I was hoping that it had improved. I was disappointed to see that nothing had changed. The problem with this product is that you can't raise the flap high enough in the frame to avoid damaging the magnetic housing. I had to modify it myself to keep it working properly. I would hope someone from the company reads this so they can improve this product. I did not know I could order these kinds of parts and bought a whole new window unit. That was expensive....had I know I could order this particular part it would have saved me well over $100.00.

Pefect for aging pooch
Got this and other parts to replace my old pet door that my dog was having trouble getting through due to aging issues.The 15 inch length let me enlarge the opening so that the bottom of the flap was about 4" off the ground. Now he just walks right through easily. Couldn't use the new models since they required an opening too wide for my door with windowed panels.

But was able to hammer down the metal frame enough for it to slip in. Nice to have our dog door back. Shipping was prompt

Perfect fit!
The replacement frame fit perfectly, and I didn't have any issues switching it out. However, it seems my usually "too smart for me sometimes" cats didn't like that the flap didn't open without some effort, so I did have to remove the magnetic retainer bar at the bottom. I managed to do so with cracking the the holder. Maybe one of these days I can sneak it back in on them!
