To determine the correct size door, simply measure the width (A) and height (B) of your pet.
(A) Measure the widest point of your pet's shoulder.
(B) Measure from the top of your pet's back (just behind their head) to the bottom of chest.
Pet door models have different size openings. Just make sure your new pet door's opening is both wider and taller than your pet's measurements to ensure they can comfortably pass through.

Don't replace your dog door
I have had the same dog door for 10 years. Due to weather conditions, summer heat and freezing winter temperatures, the plastic can crack and the screws won't stay in place. Instead of replacing the whole door I just replace the frame

Just what I needed
When you have 3 BIG dogs crashing through the dog door, (& sometimes they try to go 2 at a time), even the most sturdy parts will break, crack or wear out. Took the old screws out (from inside), took out the old frame, snapped the new frame in place, swapped flaps and replaced the screws. Total time - maybe 15 minutes? That's how repairs should work - perfectly & quick, with no special tools needed.

easy installation
I replaced the inside of the door frame because it had the magnet strip attached. It was an easy job along with the plastic flap. All done in a few minutes and looks like new.

wish inwould have known
When purchasing the inside frame it should ship with the flap retainer I would have gladly paid more to receive both parts . When I took mine apart the retainer was not reusable now I have to reorder another part and pay $13 for shipping or figure out a way to rig what I have . Old doors never die, they just fade into obscurity.
I ordered a replacement inside frame to go with a flap I had ordered earlier through Lowe's. The frame fit into the vinyl pet patio door but the holes on the frame and the holes on the flap did not match. I was able to make some adjustments to make the parts work with each other. I have had the patio door for approx 17 years and the entry/exits through the door has to be in the 10,000+ range. I will happily accept some replacement issues for that type of longevity!!
