To determine the correct size door, simply measure the width (A) and height (B) of your pet.
(A) Measure the widest point of your pet's shoulder.
(B) Measure from the top of your pet's back (just behind their head) to the bottom of chest.
Pet door models have different size openings. Just make sure your new pet door's opening is both wider and taller than your pet's measurements to ensure they can comfortably pass through.

Magnetic Bar for Pet Door
This is the second magnetic bar I have replaced since purchasing the panel in 2017. Our two German Shepherds go in and out of the pet door continuously during the day. The magnetic bar receives lots of wear and tear due to all of the activity. It's so nice to replaced such an inexpensive part without replacing the whole door.

I wish this was not a removable part
Because this part sort of "floats" which means it makes noise, so my weird dog rips it off and takes it out in the yard and destroys it (he is 85 lbs of chicken and the noise scares him when it is windy.) I get why it is designed like that, but I wish it wasn't. I bought 2 this time for when he does it again.

Why have to replace in the first place?
I was quite disappointed that the original part broke off. I don't understand why it couldn't be integrated into the frame to begin with. I guess the after market parts business is too lucrative. Not happy to have to continually worry that it will break again. It seems way too easy to install, just snaps on. Will probably snap right back off after my dog goes through a few more times. Will be replacing the whole door with a different product.

Not only is this one better than the one it came with, the customer service is outstanding. You have an outstanding employee that helped me order the correct part. I don't want to put her name here/in public but hopefully Ideal reviews and rewards her for representing the company so well.

Easy to install
The old broken warped magnetic bar was easy to remove and the new one was super easy to install. In the picture it shows 3 magnets. Giving this a 4 star because My bar only has 2 magnets. I would assume paying $7.00 for the XL magnetic bar It would need 3 magnets.

Replacement magnet retainer strip
Always shipped fast. I have a husky that fly’s through the door. I go thru 2 a year. I think they should have 3 magnets in stead of 2. They always fit good. Great customer service!!

Plastic Bar With Magnets
I'm very happy with this replacement it fits just like the original. I had ordered the wrong one and Ideal refunded my money right away and I reordered the correct one, had the replacement with in a couple of days.
