To determine the correct size door, simply measure the width (A) and height (B) of your pet.
(A) Measure the widest point of your pet's shoulder.
(B) Measure from the top of your pet's back (just behind their head) to the bottom of chest.
Pet door models have different size openings. Just make sure your new pet door's opening is both wider and taller than your pet's measurements to ensure they can comfortably pass through.

Wrong Size - Dissapointed
I recently bought new door to replace my sliding glass door - it has a dog door on one side. I thought I should get a replacement slide (for the future, with 3 big dogs..). It is an Ideal Pet door, so I went to their site and purchased - what I thought was the same size slide: SDSLN, but it was not. The replacement slide was just $22 plus S&H to ship... not bad. However, the size of my dog door slide was a half-inch wider. I emailed Ideal. After several emails, Janice said to return it. Disappointed that Ideal, the company that makes the pet door did not have a replacement! They were not much help with the return! Now… the replacement slide will cost me more S&H to return, and I do not have a replacement! Very Disappointed....

I was given the dog door from a friend, without the slide. I ordered the replacement slide and asked for a grey slider to match. They sent the grey even though the photo showed a beige color. Fit perfectly.

DOES NOT FIT
They must have changed the style of this replacement slide, it no longer fits on the door model I have. This is the second time I purchased the replacement slide. The first time was perfect, and now it does not fit anymore. Too wide and too short. Will not take the time to return it, as I'll spend more money on time and shipping than I'll actually get back on the refund.

I was assured by the product representative over the phone that this item would fit my "Ruff Weather" large pet door. The item did not fit and could not be made to fit. Too large on the width and too small on the length.
