For Ruff Weather Frame/Chrome Steel/9-1/2" Wall Kit Screws 4 Each
To determine the correct size door, simply measure the width (A) and height (B) of your pet.
(A) Measure the widest point of your pet's shoulder.
(B) Measure from the top of your pet's back (just behind their head) to the bottom of chest.
Pet door models have different size openings. Just make sure your new pet door's opening is both wider and taller than your pet's measurements to ensure they can comfortably pass through.

Careful - the screws may bend
Overall, the screws work for the purpose intended. Unfortunately, they are not the best quality. The process of cutting the screws down to size and placing them into the wall is likely to bend the screws. Their material, length, and girth make this almost inevitable. I wish the wall kit came with extra screws, with the understanding that some may bend to the point of being unusable. Or I wish that screws of this length were more widely available for purchase in-store. After bending two of the four screws that came with my wall kit, I had to purchase this new pack. This delayed finishing the installation by several days.

Stripped Easily
The screws were way too soft and as a result they stripped completely before we even got them screwed in. Since it's such a unique size, we couldn't buy a replacement part from a hardware store, had to buy them here. Not impressed.

replacement bolts
Had a problem when I first installed the pet door, I bent one of the bolts, had to order a package of four. When the new bolts arrived all four new bolts were bent, took the least bent one and cut it to the length I needed and I finally got it started and tightened. Hopefully I don't have to take it apart for any reason, but if I do I've still got three more bent ones.

I was able to get 4, 9 inch machine screws since I had lost one that came with the door..after looking everywhere I found them on the pet door site..they were exactly what I needed and I received them in a timely manner. Thank you Ideal Pet Products!

Excellent product!
I installed this in my exterior wall and it lets the cat in, but keeps the cold out! Instructions about what I needed to install in the wall were not very clear at Home Depot, so I had to order long set of screws to go through both sides of wall for a snug fit. Would have liked the 9 inch screws included in the kit.

Too soft.
Unfortunately, the screw heads are just too soft. Both, the original & replacement 9" screw heads stripped out without too much torque. I like the design of the dog door but sure do wish the screws weren't cheap imported crap.

wall mount screws not included !
Would have given 5 stars had the nine inch screws been included in the package or at least displayed with the door. Became a frustrating project quickly !

Quality parts, easy to order replacements
I have an XL door and it has functioned perfectly. i have had it about 9 mo. I installed it myself and it was not a perfect installation, but was perfect for my four dogs all less than 30 lbs. It was my son's overweight blood hound who stressed the weaker points of my installation and I needed to replace the wall kit screws and the outside frame. The ordering process was flawless, the delivery swift, and the parts were exactly as ordered. The wall kit screws broke inside the hole in the outside frame.
