To determine the correct size door, simply measure the width (A) and height (B) of your pet.
(A) Measure the widest point of your pet's shoulder.
(B) Measure from the top of your pet's back (just behind their head) to the bottom of chest.
Pet door models have different size openings. Just make sure your new pet door's opening is both wider and taller than your pet's measurements to ensure they can comfortably pass through.

Concerned about durability
The holes in the replacement flap are punched so close to the top of the flap that I am concerned they will rip loose very quickly just like the last one. At $40 per single flap, I cannot afford to keep replacing them every few months.

Check & Double Check Size before Ordering
I have a 12 year old doggy door. The flap has become worn and warped so that it no longer provides a seal. I could not find the size of my current flap (10 1/2 x 13) so I called to see if they were still making it or if they had an alternative, It is an Ideal Product with the Ideal Logo in the center. I was told to take a picture & they would submit to the parts department. What good is a picture? Either you have the size or not. I ordered the closest size and ended up having to return it.

The Ruff-Weather Replacement Flap (model RWRFXL) is of high quality, and it is very easy to remove an old one and install a new one. Also, the service by Ideal Pet Products is 1st rate. The replacement flap I initially received had been damaged during shipping. I called the company and was sent another flap without question. It arrived the day after I called.
